FYI, I still have 3.0 on my 3GS (scared away from upgrading to 3.1 and somehow never got to 3.0.1) yet have this "spinning forever"..."feature."
I'm trying to figure out if there is any way to backup the phones (I also have a 3G in the same state) without being forcing them to die with 3.1 ;o) While I believe in capital punishment, they're both too young to die. :)
