I beta tested iCloud music.. and beta tested an iCloud restore on an iPhone with the streamed music... in my opinion it was awful, and took forever.
I trust my own computer and I don't mind plugging in to sync.. and even if I don't wanna plug in, at least I can use the WIFI syncing now...
I will keep my data to myself, thanks :) Except for backups of critical stuff which I currently trust DropBox. But content, I want on my own MacPro, on my own hard drive...
To quote Al Pacino from Scarface... "I trust me." :) (oh and you can buy that movie, you don't need to watch it in the cloud) :)
Things go full circle in life... if you look, technically cloud computing is the 70s.. when you had dumb terminals connecting to a huge mainframe, and that mainframe handled everything... people got away from it... now they are going back... it will eventually go back... that is how life works...
Something bad will happen (look at RIM/Blackberry... huge outage for days)... it will happen someday, and trust will go by the wayside and they will start selling "Own your own content!" as hard as they are pushing the cloud.
Although, the later generations seem to not know anything that goes on with their lives... I am just floored at the amount of information people put on a social media network... if I were a serial killer, or I really hated somebody, it's so easy to find their habits, families, etc and know everything I need to know to make their life a living hell... DISCLAIMER: I am not a serial killer)... but other than a picture of myself, you will NEVER see photos of my or my life on any social media site... and I only put my own photos on so people can make sure it's the right Mike Pike.
