Hello,
Whenever I need to install anything with the
Installer.app or the
System Update the install process freezes in the final
phase - when
the actuall installation should take place and I get
this error in the
console.log:
2006-09-08 14:16:54.273 Software Update[548] ***
-[IFRunnerProxy

Is there anything to be done to rectify this short of
reinstalling the
system? Maybe I could reinstall the Install.app?
I'm not sure the problem is with Install.app:
IFRunnerProxy is class of the Install.framework you can find in
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/
Couldn't it be possible that you have launched a "future" version of
Installer.app?
A class-dump on a 10.4.4 version of Mac OS X reveals no such method.
It's not unusual that when you have 2 versions of Mac OS X installed,
the "future" version gets launched instead of the one of the running
OS. I've seen this case a lot with Preview and TextEdit.
