For 10.4 packages it seems to be IFPkgFlagFollowLinks in the
Info.plist.
In 10.5 my symlinks are clobbered so I'm trying to find out where
this is set. Or is this a massive bug with 10.5 packages?
I haven't seen any option for this with FLAT packages (the only one I
know is overwrite-permissions which is not supported by PackageMaker).
I would have thought this option was turned on by default because
when you try to install something into /tmp, it's correctly installed
in /private/tmp/. This would require testing what happens if you
install a tmp folder with a file inside it in /.
