Please. Remember that this is a VOLUNTEER email list. There are some Apple employees who read this, but there is no guarantee of timely response.
If you have a time-sensitive or mission-critical problem, contact ADC, file a radar, or whatever else you think is appropriate, in addition to talking about it here.
Since you think this is something that worked in 10.5 but is broken in 10.6, please file a bug report (radarweb). It sounds like something that might be straightforward to fix, and we certainly don't want to prevent signed installers from running!
I pointed out to our marketing people that Apple's Safari, iTunes and iWork installers aren't signed, and they decided it wasn't a vital feature after all...
"Automatic" software updates (through the Software Update application) are, in fact, signed, and have been for a long time, but as is plainly obvious, only Apple updates come through that program.
On the other hand, the iWork and iTunes "full manual" installers you download aren't signed. Sigh. |
