Hey Paul,
Thanks for replying! But my metapackage
was created using shell script, not PackageMaker. So it doesn't have the
TokenDefinitions.plist file nor the "IFPkgPathMappings" token
in the "Info.plist".
A workable solution is adding a postflight
script in my packages to move it to the correct location after installation...but
I think there should be better solution than this....

OK, but I was referring to trick I use of
deleting TokenDefinitions.plist from the built metapackage. I'm not
sure if that's relevant to the OP or not, but it certainly worked for me
when installing an app. Here is the post on this subject that I failed
to mention before. Sorry about that:

The IFPkgFlagRelocatable is not related to
bundle relocation.
