Did you look in the console log after installing your
package? Installer.app writes some stuff in there, maybe that will give
you a clue. Out of interest, how do you know where the installer is putting your
bundles if it is relocating them? If I ever get hit by the relocation
problem again, I would at least like to know where things went.

Thanks for replying! But my
metapackage was created using shell script, not PackageMaker. So it doesn't have
the TokenDefinitions.plist file nor the "IFPkgPathMappings" token in the
"Info.plist".
A workable solution is
adding a postflight script in my packages to move it to the correct location
after installation...but I think there should be better solution than
this....
