Who is trying to phone home and how can I stop this?

Little Snitch (http://www.obdev.at/products/littlesnitch/index.html) may be useful in tracking down the culprit. I haven't used it myself but I know others who like it. In demo mode it only works for three hours, but that should be long enough.
