The MySql is the easy part. WO supports several common databases, but, if you need something that covers more of the ANSI SQL spec than MySQL does, you might want to think about another database.

Tell me about it - we found a nasty bug in outer joins that was a real pain. We coded around it using appropriately quirky inner joins, but this was a pain. Oracle, on the other hand, did not complain a bit. We filed this as 3164445.

We spent a tech support incident, and were told it was scheduled to be fixed in a future release. 5.2.1 was not that release, regrettably, so we are really hoping for a cool 5.3.

That said, mysql has been fairly easy to administer and set up, and the price is certainly right as long as you do not ship it as part of your app.
