Well, this last thought has got me to thinking and is probably where I'm not connecting all of the dots. If I have to have a WO deployment license, yet intend to release on JBoss, is there still going to be a place where I enter the license information? I was under the impression that this license only comes into play if you are running your application against the WO server which will prompt you for a license. Haven't done this yet, so just kinda curious on how they are going to manage something like this.

Just like the Panther Family Pack, Apple trusts you. When you create an SSDD or WAR (any standalone deployment) you are asked to provide a valid deployment license key. Without the Key, it won't run. Apple expects a given deployment key is only used on a single machine (though it can be used on any number of applications running on that machine).

Then, I've got to wonder why would someone want to deploy to a JBoss or Tomcat, if they have to do a WO license anyway? Does a WO application perform better in a java container than the CGI based app server? (not trying to bash here - just trying to understand the WHYs)

It's a deployment convenience - lots of people work in companies where there is already a standard deployment setup (say, Tomcat, or WebLogic, etc). Everyone is expected to write apps that run in that setup - the admins aren't going to learn a whole new deployment setup just for a single app.

Oh yeah - no more than 1 razor blade per 4 pieces, or you may injure yourself when throwing them at people who spit at you.
