A wise move. Although fully open source is a great goal, the reality is that it's very risky if your business relies on the software moving in a certain direction. Open source communities have a way of taking sharp left turns, which go to very interesting places but not necessarily anywhere you needed to go for your business needs.


FYI, I have heard this referred to as "source available" rather than "open source".

We do want it to be more open with contributions from the community. We just have not fully determined how that will happen while still maintaining the integrity and security of the product.
