Actually, I'd vote for a WO release that added "get" to all methods
and provided no compatibility deprecation at all.

Officially the last thing I expected to hear.
My eyebrows found new heights :-) esp given all the 'this is the last
WO54 compatibility...' messages over the last so often + I seem to
recall the words never and ever being used with regards to this topic
in the past.
But perhaps Anjo is being facetious given the WO54 api breakages and
the flow-on consequences of such a change to WO.
