I am trying to get Ximian Evolution built using fink on a G3 running
the
latest version of Mac OSX along with the latest version of the
Developer
Tools. I have the Apple X11 beta installed on the machine, as well as a
few other packages (SDK,etc). I basically do a fink install evolution,
and after hours of heavy compilation, i finally end up with the
following error, while apparently building mozilla (though i cant
understand why evolution would have a dependency on or even need
mozilla
installed), which is already installed outside of fink's /sw directory
tree.
I have just installed Evolution using Fink and it seemed to compile
just fine and runs very well. I do however have one small problem,
namely, when I launch evolution I get lots of the following message
** CRITICAL **: file gdk-pixbuf.c: line 79 (gdk_pixbuf_unref):
assertion `pixbuf != NULL' failed.
libpng warning: Application was compiled with png.h from libpng-1.0.12
libpng warning: Application is running with png.c from libpng-1.2.5
libpng error: Incompatible libpng version in application and library
It seems that the compiler insists on using libpng-1.0.12 which Fink
will install even if libpng-1.2.5 is already there. The only
consequence of this seems to be the absence of the icons in the short
cut list.
