No guarantees, etc., but I happen to have a server with that
particular bug fixed handy:
curl -O http://www.astro.princeton.edu/~cloomis/Xquartz
Swap it for the distribution server in /usr/X11R6/bin/ and restart
X11.
There was another version of a server with that fix on the web
somewhere, but I wasn't sure about how old it was. This one was built
from Apple's published sources from a month or so ago. The _only_
change is for the cursor byte-order problem, using the very simple
code patch that the original fixer provided -- someone at wisc.edu,
maybe?
There may or may not be patches in the currently shipping version
of X11 which were not in Apple's tarball -- I grabbed it after the
recent OpenGL update, but the source did not show any recent changes.
