Did you restart sshd on the remote server after setting X11Forwarding
to yes? You should have a session that looks like this:
~ $ which ssh
/usr/bin/ssh
~ $ echo $DISPLAY
/tmp/launch-wqzBDv/:0
~ $ ssh 10.0.10.2
Warning: No xauth data; using fake authentication data for X11
forwarding.

~ $ echo $DISPLAY
localhost:10.0

2. It's possible something in your remote shell config is unsetting
DISPLAY. Try this:
ssh -Y remotehost bash --norc --noprofile -c 'echo $DISPLAY'
Whups; that actually won't get you anything even if it's working due
to quoting issues - $DISPLAY is expanded before sshd has a chance to
set it. Try this instead:
ssh -Y remotehost 'bash --norc --noprofile -c "echo $DISPLAY" '
note the extra quotes around the whole bash command line.
Hey, I've got nothing in my .bashrc/.bash_profile/.profile/etc. that
might contribute to changing the display variable. However I ran these
anyway to no avail.
The xauth warning message was new to me, and I got around it (in
probably poor form) by copying my HOST .Xauthority and saving it to my
REMOTE machine. But it still didn't alleviate my problems in X11
forwarding, which still persist.
empty display variable, /etc/sshd_config has X11Forwarding set to yes,
etc. Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated, as X11 Forwarding
is important to my work!
Thanks,
J.
