That might be the pbproxy trying to connect... it should try a few
(10?) times before it gives up.
That hapened some lines before the above quoted stuff.
What I've found is that there has been a change (regression?) in the
way the xauth cookies are identified: my machine may be connected
via DSL or via cellular modem (due to flaky phone wiring) and its
hostname changes depending on which is in use --- which means my
xauth cookies often end up being for the wrong hostname. I'm not
sure what changed here, but it was working more reliably before
2.3.2rc4.
It's been an issue for as long as I've been working on X11 (and it's
an issue across platforms). The launchd socket, however, does not
need/use xauth...
