I don't see this. Just to be sure there is no misunderstanding: The
non-reversed video in this case is white letters (fg) on blue background
(bg). Your command line gives me the opposite, so it *is* reversed.
The extra "-r" on the command line (which you don't mention, but which
according to the man page is equivalent to "-rv") lets me suspect that
what you mean by
without any [-+]rv
is actually "with -r", which means already reversed, i.e. blue letters
on white background.
Putting several -r or -rv flags on the command line does not reverse
several times, only once. The result of a mixture of -rv and +rv flags
depends on the order: Only the last one is taken into account.
