GIMP is available in versions for Mac OS 10.4 and for OS 10.5. GIMPshop only works with OS versions thrugh 10.4.11; doesn't work with Leopard. The version of GIMP you need depends on your processor (Intel or PPC). I have a PowerBook G4 and have had success with GIMP 2.6.3 for PPC. Check http://darwingimp.sourceforge.net/ for some direction in finding the right version for your needs.
