Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 refuses to install on a case sensitive
file system, indicative to me of sloppy software engineering.

I used Superduper to backup up my new 15in Macbook Pro to an
external HD, then used iPartition to resize the root partition to
about 80GB and make a second case-sensitive partition for my Real
Work(tm) which requires case-sensitivity. This didn't require a
complete re-install, just boot off the external drive before
running iPartition. This allowed me to do everything without
having to reinstall.
Superduper and iPartition are both commercial software, but IHMO
well worth the price. In addition to resizing the partition,
iPartition also allowed me to change the boot type on the
external LaCie Quadra from PPC to Intel and back.
