That's not the way I'm trying to do this, but highlighting an
xterm window, hitting cmd-C, going to Safari then cmd-v. I have
an old 3-button Logitech Mouseman on the KVM.

I haven't had that type of problems (at least not to recognize
them for that). The one I have is a GUH284R.

This is a 2.66GHz 15in Macbook Pro purchased last August. The
Keyboard and mouse are connected to the USB closest to the front
of the machine while I have a powered USB hub in the other one.
I haven't seen documentation on the differences between the USB
ports, but do know that the rear one doesn't seem to like many
unpowered devices so perhaps that's the keyboard one?

The day-to-day travails of the IBM programmer are so amusing to most of
us who are fortunate enough never to have been one -- like watching
Charlie Chaplin trying to cook a shoe.
