Hey all,
apparently, this is it. I had two bash aliases to connect to two
different machines through ssh, and I had not noticed that one was
using ssh -X and the other (newer) ssh -Y. The problem arised when
using the one with ssh -Y.
If I'm not mistaken SL came with OpenSSH 5.1 and Lion comes with
OpenSSH 5.6, so the diagnosis seems the right one.
