Aha! Thanks for the hint! I will try fiddling that.

I don't think I've ever heard of that, and (having checked it out) I
certainly dont think I have it onboard, unless someone put it there
without telling me. :-)

... which brings me to yet another (and all the more unpleasant)
alternative: some kind of virus. :-P
