what is stopping you from closing most of them and using the equivalent "Smart Group" and "Detail View" listings in the main editor window?

1. The smart groups are out of focus most of the time. I have to explicitly scroll to them.

2. The detail view takes away precious space from my editor window. I don't like it. (*)

3. The computer should adjust to the user, not the user to the computer. I don't see why Xcode should be an exception from this rule.

I want _one_ main editor window and utility windows (or panes or whatever) for additional tasks.

I don't mind switching windows in general. I _do_ mind switching my editor window.

(*) Xcode 1.5 has the habit of (re-)opening the detailview without my request. I'll file that as a bug, too.
