Dang! My folks had a bad enough time with the debugger to stop using

I’ve had good experiences with GDB on other platforms, and using it
with DDD is nice (on Linux), so I’m assuming that the hell that is
debugging is related to the UI in Xcode.
Well, not to beat a dead horse into the ground (but this is therapeutic
for me...), but from asking other people on the #macdev channel and
elsewhere it's my understanding that many of these problems are just
the fact that GDB sucks. All the XCode UI can hope to do is put a
prettier face over the suckitude, but that's about it. I could be wrong
though. I googled for "gdb sucks" and got a couple of hits from others
specifically about problems it had with C++ and just weird, flaky
behavior. Perhaps since a lot of dev on linux is done with C, the C
part of the debugger is more stable/polished and these problems are
just not encountered.
Cheers
Jim
