Hi Fritz,
I am using an "External Target" which I created under the Project Menu
by selecting New Target.
Does this help?
Thanks,
Rob

I'm not clear on this... how do you inform Xcode about the executable?
Do you use the "New Custom Executable" command in the Project menu?

I would like to use Xcode to debug the executable, but when I try to
get that to happen by selecting that the executable is in the Project
directory or use a custom directory set to the Project directory I
get the following error:
No executable file specified.
Use the "file" or "exec-file" command.
It works if I cp the file in the terminal to the build directory.
