When you create a target it gets an associated executable that is wired
to look in the build products. Since you are not building the
executable in the expected location (the build products directory) you
can add a shell script build phase to create a symbolic link from the
build products to the executable or you need to create a custom
executable (Project->New Custom Executable) and point the path to the
built executable. You should be able to enter a project relative path
in the Executable inspector so you won't have to check out the code to
the same location every time. I'd probably go with the symbolic link

Hi All,
I am using an external makefile, which is in the project directory. I
would like to use Xcode to debug the executable, but when I try to get
that to happen by selecting that the executable is in the Project
directory or use a custom directory set to the Project directory I get
the following error:
No executable file specified.
Use the "file" or "exec-file" command.
It works if I cp the file in the terminal to the build directory.
Any way to fix this?
