I did an upgrade and am missing some files also. I'm relatively new
to OS X - just bought a Mac in November. How does one reinstall the
BSD subsystem -- do another "upgrade" to Tiger using the DVD? Do I
have to remember to select all the same options I selected the
first time (e.g., X11, etc.)?
If there is a planned patch from Apple, I can wait as it hasn't
caused me any problems yet.
I figured it out so I figured I'd reply in case anyone else has the
problem. You don't need to "upgrade" Tiger completely to do it. Put
the Tiger disc in, click on system folder, then installation folder,
then packages. There you will find the BSD.pkg file and can install
it. Hope this helps someone.
