Firstly, I should say that I'm using OS 10.3.

Which version of Xcode? What code completion options, etc. are enabled? What system are you using?

As a reference point on my Dual G5 2GHz using Tiger and Xcode 2.0 (on a busy system) I can open a file with 40 thousand line of objective-c code in about 12 seconds (cold loading) and I can make changes (including paste large block of text) without any noticeable delays. Note I have code indexing on, syntax-aware indenting on automatic, and code completion fully enabled with automatic suggestions.

(I know you are likely frustrated with what you are hitting but really their is no reason to redirect that  frustration towards us or the Apple folks that lurk on this list via the tone of email... better to state your problem with out all that noise, thanks)
