As you can infer from this response, there are some big performance
improvements in Xcode 2.0. Of course, we still have a ways to go.

As a reference point on my Dual G5 2GHz using Tiger and Xcode 2.0
(on a busy system) I can open a file with 40 thousand line of
objective-c code in about 12 seconds (cold loading) and I can make
changes (including paste large block of text) without any
noticeable delays. Note I have code indexing on, syntax-aware
indenting on automatic, and code completion fully enabled with
automatic suggestions.
