ok, so that makes it entirely pointless for me to try and use it :)
It sounds as if having the bundle handle different apps for different
os's is also impossible.
So, it feels like the only solution is to have the bundle alias point
to a stub that fires up the correct app in turn.

When was that plist key introduced?
10.2.0, IIRC. And the key only partially worked under 10.3.[0-9]; it
kept the app from starting up, but no GUI error message was ever
displayed.
