XCode is slow. Very slow.
I'm not talking about speeding up compile time. That's slow, but
manageable. I'm concerned about user interface actions. For example,

Is there anything that can be done to speed things up? I'm using
XCode 1.5 on MacOS 10.3, and I don't anticipate upgrading to 10.4 any
time soon.
How large is your project? How much RAM do you have?
With a largish project we found XCode 1.5 unusable. Only after
upgrading to 2.0 was XCode close to performing up to par, but even
then we needed to upgrade our Dual G5's to more than 2 Gigs of RAM in
order to approach the speed we had with CodeWarrior.
My suggestions are:
1- look at your RAM usage & paging, upgrade if necessary. (with
XCode we were paging a lot)
2- swap to XCode 2.0.
If 1 & 2 are not possible then I would suggest going back to
CodeWarrior until you can do 1 & 2.
