Xcode preferences not updated, need help

Hello all,

I've been having some major problems with Xcode's preferences not being updated to the current version.

I used the dmg from dev.apple.com for Xcode 2.1 -- upgrading from 2.0 -- and only recently noticed that the 'General' pane doesn't have a section for 'layout'. In fact, it looks nothing like the documentation's screenshot of the General pane. It looks as though the preferences are that of 1.5's.

I completely wiped the DevTools installation (using the perl script on the devtools dmg) and then removed /Developer and reinstalled... same problem. I cleared any preferences file relating to Xcode. I went through Application Support and Caches. I found older uninstall scripts from 2.0 and 1.5 and ran them (1.0 didn't have one) and reinstalled. I ran them again and installed 2.0 instead.

The preferences are still the same: they don't look like 2.0's or 2.1's.

Here's a screenshot of the General pane and About box (with component version numbers).

Folks in #macdev on irc.freenode.net said they were the same versions as their 2.1 installation.

I'm a bit frustrated now and have pretty much run out of ideas. Is there a resource lurking somewhere? I was unable to find anything at all relating to Xcode's prefs inside Xcode.app ... or anywhere else, for that matter. Maybe it's done programatically? I don't care, really; I just want this to work without having to wipe my drive and completely reinstall Tiger.

I have Googled extensively for information on this, of course, but to no avail,

Thanks,
Joe
