I see none of the performance issues you listed on my PowerMac Quad or
MacBook Pro (except for a slow down on really large source files...
which you have to wonder why that are that large to begin with).
I rest my case. If Xcode requires a high-end dual-processor machine
to do something that CodeWarrior could do on a mid-range uni-processor
machine, it's too damn slow.
Regarding (9) you try using DWARF? It greatly reduced the size of
debug and symboled release builds.
If I ever have the time, I'll try it, but it's rather low on my priority list.
