I know we've beat this horse dead, but with all the talk of slowness and
filing bugs in radar, I have one final constructive suggestion:
Shark can be set up to automatically sample an app after it has been
unresponsive.
- launch shark
- choose Sampling > Unresponsive Applications
- the Shark window gets bigger
- at the bottom, set 'application name filter' to 'Xcode'
- set 'unresponsive time threshold' to say 4 seconds
Now whenever Xcode SPODs for 4 seconds or more, Shark will sample it.
Then file a bug in radar with that sample.
After a typical day working with Xcode, on my Dual 2.0 GHz G5 with 2.5
GB RAM, Shark has sampled Xcode dozens of times.
