Resolving 'Cannot find bounds of current function' error

Hi Folks,
I've been working with a project that hasn't presented me any real problems until now. I was in the process of stepping through code when I was presented with a 'Cannot find bounds of current function' error from gdb in Xcode. I was baffled and thought it was a one time deal. I quit my debugging session and started up again.

Well, unfortunately, the problem is happening quite often, and I don't see any documentation listing how to resolve this type of problem. Any help is appreciated!

Machine:
iMac 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 3 GB Ram, 700 GB HD.
Xcode 2.4.1, debugging dylib built with C++;
SDK root = /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.4u.sdk
GCC version = 4.0
Deployment target = 10.4
