If the formats are that different, and there was *no* support for the upgrade built in to Xcode, then it wouldn't have worked at all. Saying it's not supported isn't the same as saying there's no code in there to do the conversion.


I didn't contest that it might have worked in your case, or appeared to work. All I'm saying is that it's not supported, and the fact that it looked like it did the right thing doesn't change that fact.
