You *might* get lucky and recover your data, but "has to be"? No.
There are things you can try (a couple of people have already given
you suggestions) but you may or may not get lucky.
You might want to back up your project directory now, even in its
corrupted state, in case other things you try (or even the spinning of
the disk, if it is damaged) corrupt it more.

reputation is excellent and I believe Data Rescue's is pretty good too.

Maybe someone there can help. Take a deep breath and try not to
scream at people.
You might have to resort to a professional data recovery service.
