"Only"?! Everything defaults to 64 bit now. All Macs are 64 bit now.

"If"? The Carbon templates are gone. Look for yourself.
Please let's not go through all this again!
Bernie (the OP) does have a good reason for wanting to create such a
project. Best workaround is to reboot into 10.5, make a new test Carbon
project there, zip that up, and hang on to it for future troubleshooting
purposes.
