Good point. They basically never work anyway, so I'll try with them turned off.
Before I got your note, I was able to temporarily alleviate my problem by quitting and relaunching the iPhone Simulator.

Do you have the data formatters turned on in Xcode? If so, try turning them off. I keep them turned off—they often cause problems. If you turn them off and the problem goes away, check the description methods of any objects you have.
