Take a look at tabs, you might be pleasantly surprised.

Tabs don't provide a way to put windows side by side.

They do, however, provide a way to do exactly what he described wanting to do and said he didn't know how to do without multiple windows.

And they seem to always change when you hit breakpoints.

Sounds like a bug. What's the radar number?
