It appears to be an intelligence test, which I passed, but not after pondering why my Xcode did not update like any of the apps off the store.
Once I went back to the launcher, then I grokked the additional step.
Hopefully next time it will update like all the other apps.
In the meantime, I guess 10.6 stays at 4.2 ...
