Actually, I would love to see this made into a preference. I really miss not having double-click and option-leftarrow or option-rightarrow not be camelhump aware. Yes, I know, file a bug-report.

Some time ago they broke it by making other symbols word breaks as well, like '=' and '>', so now it takes forever to jump through code, because it keeps stopping on places that human programmers don't expect it to stop.
