A bit of an overview: The assistant editor will automatically find things related to whatever is opened / selected in your primary editor. What can it find? Lots of stuff. The things to be found are organized into categories. You get to the various categories from the first breadcrumb in the jump bar of the assistant editor. I would have called it the "assistant categories menu", seems like our documentation are calling it the "assistant pop-up menu":
