It’s easy to overlook, especially because — regardless of what the menu item says — they’re *workspace* settings, not project settings. If you open a project not in the context of an explicit workspace, there’s an implicit workspace, whose file is … hidden inside the project file package.

The whole workspace concept is pointless, as originally conceived, but it’s now become a way to configure multiple projects into a single SCM repository, or to manage a way of fetching projects from multiple repositories.
