I inadvertently put an old version of Jon's Commands (v 2.1.2) in the
System/Library/ScriptingAdditions folder on my Pismo running Mac OS
10.2.8. I have a newer, X-ready version (3.0d3) that I'd like to
place there.
Simply dragging won't work. From reading Matt Neuberg's "AppleScript:
The Definitive Guide" ( a great book, btw), I believe I understand
why this won't work. He explains how to work around the absence of a
scripting addition on the fly in Panther.
I'm not sure this approach will work 10.2.8. Can anyone suggest how
to get this _replacement_ done in 10.2.8? I've thought of starting up
in Classic, but hate to be so regressive. Any other way available
(short of upgrading Mac OS X)?
Further question: from the Terminal, when I list the
ScriptingAdditons folder contents, it gives "Jon???s Commands", while
GetInfo gives the usual apostrophied spelling. What's this about?
Thanks.
