More accurate, more gory maybe: the corresponding files are still in use, *and* calling the osax from the app is likely to crash it.


This makes the only reason why Smile's installer (which installs osax) proposes to restart - though you also can safely quit it: it's very unlikely, but maybe a background application has loaded an osax.
