It certainly helps me solve my problems (or at least some).
And with all it's quirks, it's easier to start than anything I've tried in the last 20 years.

There is still one area where I don't seem to make it work, is as a Java script engine. AS is available as a script engine for Java apps and I use one for work that is also scriptable (in a Java way) but I can't seem to make AS do anything useful there. But that's a different story (although related I guess).
