I can't even imagine how painful the "Find Again" command would be if I had to keep selecting it from a menu rather than typing command-g.

Infrequently used commands I'm sure are slower to find/use with the keyboard than with the mouse. But infrequent commands are (almost by definition) a tiny percentage of time spent. The primary advantage mouse/menus have over key shortcuts is discoverability.. I can drop down a menu and browse a few dozen commands in the time it would take me to open a Terminal window and grep through man emacs, for instance.

This is why clear, easy to comprehend menu labels are so important IMHO.
