Color Synergy is indefensible?"
The nature of this list is that it is a _user_ list, not a _vendor_ list.
In general, it is inappropriate for vendors to exploit the list for self
promotional purposes. I have always made a sincere effort to honor these
guidelines, and restrict my contributions to topics unrelated to my
companies' products.
Since Harold has posted a direct question (to me I presume), I will answer
it.
It is my (personal) opinion that as a company, Pictographics has not done a
very good job promoting its end-user products. Most of our revenues derive
from OEM licensing and that is the business area receiving most of our
attention. A deliberate effort has been underway over the past few months
to change this, but it will take time. I believe our color technology is
second to none and that many of the less than favorable comments come from
experiences that people have had in the distant past and/or from early
versions of our software. Color management in general, and profiling in
particular, is inherently complex, as anyone on this list knows. We provide
excellent technical support services to our customers, but even so, it is
common for us to find that those individuals expressing disappointment with
our product have never once contacted us for help. This is very frustrating
and I don't know what to do about it.
We have just released yet another version of ColorSynergy (v4.5) and once
again offer it free of charge to our faithful customers.
That's all I plan to say on this topic.
