Thanks Joachim for giving me your point of view about proofers.
Indeed, we have also Epson printers (3000 and 5000)in combination with the
BestRIP, and the colors aren't bad, but are still not good enough.
Maybe we're too critical :-) We're working in a very specific color sector,
and one percent difference is really TOO MUCH for us.
I've also heard the new Epson 7600 and 9600 are good (contains 7 inks, the
new color is "light Black"), but there is something strange with the gray
balance when printing only black from 0 to 100%. Is isn't really neutral.
But I haven't seen it yet ;-)
Don't you think that the Epson is too slow for making proofs?
The Iris that you have, is this the Iris2Print or Iris4Print from Creo?
Thanks Lee for the other proofers like Kodak Approval and Matchprint,
I'll take a look at the web to find something more about it.
Are they stable?
